Calculating Fat

Know how much fat you consume daily so that you can guard against heart disease and some types of cancer and control your weight. For a general idea of your daily limit of fat grams, take your ideal body weight and divide it in half. For example, If you would like to weigh 130 pounds, aim for a limit of 65 grams of dietary fat daily. And dont forget to read nutrition labels and use a guide listing the dietary fat in common foods.

What Exercise Can Do

There's strong evidence that regular exercise can reduce the risk of coronary heart disease, high blood pressure, and sudden death from heart attack. It can also fight obesity. There are some indications that regular exercise may lower the risk of cancer and help lower high cholesterol levels. Though there is no evidence that exercise will help prevent arthritis, gentle exercise - especially when done in water- may help relieve stiff joints.

Finding A Massage Therapist

How can you tell if massage therapist are competent ? Ask what training they have received and check their references. If you live in a state that requires licensing, make sure the therapist is licensed. A responsible massage therapist will ask about your medical history before beginning. SKIN: Handle With Care

For skin care, simpler is often better. For instance, you'll find that wearing protective clothing to shield yourself from harsh elements is a better method of skin care than using very expensive beauty creams. Cleaning your face improperly may do more harm than good. Many of us assault the face with harsh products that can injure skin cells. Just simply wash your face once a day with warm -not hot-water and a mild cleanser. Don't massage soap into your skin because this may clog your pores. Rinse thoroughly to remove all traces of soap. Use a soft washcloth to help remove dead skin cells and dirt. Be sure to rinse the cloth after use. If you live in a heavily polluted area, clean your face a second time each day using a cotton ball moistened with non alcohol toner and gentle massage to stimulate your face.

The AT - Home Workout

Finding the right place to exercise is important. If you like your environment , you're more likely to keep exercising. The advantages of an at-home gym are many: no crowds, no lines, and no membership fees (although you will need to invest in your own equipment). - Another advantage of working out at home is that you can read, watch television, or listen to music while you condition your body. Where's the best place to put your equipment? Right next to your home entertainment system. -Working out at home can also benefit people who enjoy seasonal sports. Telephone Tips

Never cradle the phone between your neck and shoulder . This can create or intensify neck or back pain. Whenever a phone conversation lasts more than 10 minutes, move around to work your muscles as you talk or listen. Lean back and lean forward; stand up and sit down. Consider getting a headset if you spend a lot of time on the phone, especially if you type or write as you talk. A headset may prevent a stiff neck. For a less expensive alternative, get a shoulder rest. Be sure to switch ears often.

Take A Nap

Napping is a simple, effective way to relax. It will refresh you, helping you stay alert during the rest of the day. -Don't fight it. The midday drowsiness that used to be attributed to digesting lunch is now recognized as a natural part of our body's rhythms. -You'll find that a short after noon nap is especially restful. Naps taken in the morning are usually lighter sleep. Naps taken in the early evening , on the other hand, will probably only cause you to postpone your regular bedtime. - Sleeping isn't necessary for a good nap. Merely lying down and resting can be just as restorative, and might be easier if you work in a busy place. -A good nap need only be 15 to 20 minutes long. Make sure you keep your nap to under an hour. Longer naps will leave you groggy. - Napping isn't for everyone. People who have trouble getting to sleep at night will find that napping worsens the problem. Others will find it hard to wake completely from a midday nap.

How To Barbecue Safely

You dont have to be an experienced cook to prepare appetizing dishes that are low in fat. But everyone who cooks and stores food does need to be fully informed of how to guard against food poisoning.. Just simply remember my tips :

  • Marinate meats to be grilled in the refrigerator, not on the counter, so bacteria won't have chance to grow.
  • Place meat that has been parboiled or partially cooked on the grill immediately after removing it from the stovetop.
  • If you have to precook meat well ahead of serving time , cook it at a temperature high enough to destroy all bacteria, then refrigerate it.
  • Wash all utensils and plates that have come in contact with raw meat before using them for cooked foods.
  • Cook meat medium to well done it depends with your preferences.
  • Keep vegetables or fruits that are intended for grilling separate from raw meat to avoid contamination.
  • Choose the leaner cuts of meat for grilling because some study suspected of causing some types of cancer may be activated when fatty foods are smoked or grilled.
  • To be on the safe side , Use a drip pan, wrap meat in foil , or place the meat over to the side, not directly over the coals .
  • If dripping fat causes the fire to flare up, douse it with a letuce leaf. Place it over the flame.
  • Serve food immediately if possible. Otherwise, perishable food should be served or refrigerated within two hours after it is cooked.

Are You Stress In The Workplace ?

The time you spend at the office may be the most stressful part of your day, but it doesnt have to be. You have a greater ability to shape your office environment than you may realize. Just take breaks throughout the day . It will help clear your mind and relieve pressure. Something as simple as going to the water cooler for a drink may do the trick. To help your workday go smoothly , try pacing your activities: do more demanding work in the morning, when your energy level is higher. And if sometimes the same with me get easily bored and tired just try listening to music, recordings of nature of sounds as such songbirds, to help you relax.. But if your stress comes from job insecurity , take stock of yourself . Update your resume, and remind yourself of your strenghts and skills. And also make sure you keep up with new developments in your field. And of course if you work in a small place with women around who loved to talks, dont let work rumors, which are usually false, cause you worry. A co-worker may just be thinking out loud about worst- case scenarios. Who cares just smiles and be yourself.
